CPR Saves Lives

With safety being our number 1 priority at All Tech combined with the fact that annually there are about 10,000 cases of cardiac arrest in the workplace we wanted to give employees the chance to familiarize themselves with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). CPR is a lifesaving procedure that is performed when the heart stops beating. CPR can double or triple the chances of survival after cardiac arrest if performed immediately.

Matt, from the Romeoville Fire Department, came out to train us on CPR. He went through CPR for adults, children, and infants. He also showed us where to find our office AED and how to use it in the instance of an emergency. Did you know that half of American workers do not know where their AED is located? Thanks to Matt we are not part of that statistic! We also were taught the Heimlich maneuver for both adults and babies. Matt did a great job educating us and giving us the information needed to potentially save a life! Check out the pictures above to see our General Superintendent, Mike LeGood (left) and our Purchasing Manager, Tom Bahr (right) getting some hands-on experience with CPR.

Thanks to all that participated! For more education about CPR and cardiac arrest visit the American Heart Association website. (http://www.heart.org)
