ATD Safety Committee Site Walk

December 28, 2018 | By: Sara Soukup

Our safety committee recently met at one of our jobsites to conduct a site-specific safety audit and review the job. Our safety committee consists of representation from field employees, superintendents, ownership, management, and office personnel. On our arrival we met with our General Contractor’s safety personnel and were taken on a tour by our foreman on the job’s interior, Wes Lyons. During the interior audit we walked many floors and were able to see our work at various stages. The committee was then met by our foreman on the job’s exterior, Ryan Miarecki. Ryan showed us our swing stages and explained to us in detail how our rigging is set up. As swing stages are one of the most dangerous aspects of the work we do, we were comforted to see our employees so expertly trained and AWARE of safety hazards! It was a great experience and eye opening for committee members who are not in the field to see the weather conditions our field employees work in (cold temperatures and wind chills 60 stories up with no windows are not something all were familiar with!!). We plan to continue enhancing our safety culture by performing more site walks and continuously gaining more insight at our jobsites. Above are pictures from the walk. Thanks to all who participated for making it such a success!
